2020-2021;
These two years fell victim to the Covid era of restrictions with no outrigger regatta or distance events. The 2020 IVF World Sprints scheduled for Hilo was also cancelled. In 2021 with vaccinations available and cases subsiding, most Anuenue paddlers resumed paddling as usual.
2022:
With Covid concerns diminishing, the year saw the resumption of preseason, regatta and non-Moloka’i races. Anuenue regatta participation featured usually five men’s and women’s crews. The best finishers were the women’s open four with one third and also the open mixed crew with also a third. States were held at Ke’ehi lagoon with the women’s open four qualifying and finishing ninth in their event.
One of the highlights of the paddling year was the 2024 World Sprints that did take place as planned in Windsor, England at Lake Dorney, the venue for the 2012 Olympic rowing competition. Our club entries included V1, V6, and V12 75s and 80s paddlers. Top finishers were the 80s crew with two gold medals.
